Hey everyone!
As the title implies, I'm looking for other routines with my Scotch and Soda set. I think it's far too good a set to relegate to one or two illusions. If anyone has some good ones, can you PM me the instructions or point me in the right direction? (oh and for the record, saying "have you seen X routine by Joe Bloggins"? Won't help me much because I haven't heard of these people before. Remember, treat me like a noobie and everything will be ok. Thanks! |

L&L has a DVD as part of their World's Greatest Magic series that has a few routines.

EBay has a few Scotch and soda books and DVD's for sale at this time. No sure how good they are, but the booklets are under $7 including shipping.

The Simmons books really are a step up from the "25 tricks with" type books.
There is also a book that Hugh Turley put out with Magic Max. No David Neighbors routines and not a lot new there, but good nevertheless for the humor and patter ideas. |

Oh and David, I believe the last part of your sentence should end with the famous 'Foghorn Leghorn' quote of "Gag, that is..." |

Dave: I had the Simmons books long ago (they are now somewhere on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean, along with many other items...), and they were great books. Were those three books the one and the same as the "Magic City Library" books? I seem to remember that on the cover.

They were indeed published by Magic City, but they don't say Magic City Library on the cover of my set.
Here are all three: http://magicref.tripod.com/bookssz/simmonsscotch1.htm http://magicref.tripod.com/bookssz/simmonsscotch2.htm http://magicref.tripod.com/bookssz/simmonsscotch3.htm Dave, I had forgotten that it was Ken that worked with you on "Freshly Minted". That's where I learned the Spider Vanish. |

@Banzai: I remember those particular copies with those covers. I used to see them that way in the shops that carried them.
Thinking back, the ones that I used to have had glossy covers (Vol. 1 was a light blue color, Vol. 2 was a light yellow color and Vol. 3 was a light pink color) and the "Magic City Library" was in a little square off to the right side of the book, on what looked just like a sheet of ruled notebook paper. I think they may have been very early to mid 90s print editions, but I am just guessing at that part. Thanks for the info! |

Im not surprised they changed it. The original cover artwork may have left a bit to be desired, but the magic inside is pretty good.

Chastain Criswell has a routine that uses S&S and you even use the Bang ring for an effect within the effect. Sorry I can't remember the name.
