i'm seriously thinking of working in warmer climates than here in the u.k performing close-up.Either on the street or in restaurants, bars e.t.c.I was thinking around the med(greece, spain). So what i need to know is, does anyone work this area already?has anyone else thought of, or already doing the same?If so how hard is it to find work?what are the laws on street magic over there?Do you need to go through an agent? These are all legitimate questions so any help would be grateful.

Banshee,
Check out: http://www.performers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi Performers.Net is a street performers' site that lists gigs, regulations from different areas around the world, good and bad venues and organizers, etc. The best thing about it is that the info comes from performers who are actually doing it or have done it. That may be of some help to you. cheers, Peter Marucci showtimecol@aol.com |

Good idea Peter - Performers.Net is a great resource. You could also try the site http://www.entsweb.co.uk which has a useful forum and links to agents hiring acts for cruise ships and sunnier climes than our own. Sigh...
Or you could book a holiday somewhere hot and try your luck street performing. It's good fun. Slainte ML |
