Most magicians spread the deck from left to right. But some spread from right to left when they spread the deck face up.
(I'm talking about right handed magician using a normal playing card.) I think advantages and disadvantages of each way are the following: left to right more beautiful and smoother but the pips looks upside down from the spectator's view right to left not as beautiful nor smooth but the pips looks correct from the spectator's view Which way do you spread your deck when you spread it face up? Please tell me your opinion. I personally spread my deck from left to right because I believe spreading the deck smoothly and beautifully is important. |

I prefer left to right in a semi circle so the pips show well.

Try to spread it face down from left to right and then turn it over so you have a nice spread first and after the turn over the pips show the wright way
