I just saw for the first time the commercial in which this figure appears last night.
It looked great.
I googled Joe Leder and found his website. He as made quite a few figures.

I just saw that commercial last night as well, Jim!

My favorite of Joel's figues is Bob Ladd's Elvira Noesegay. I met her "in person" at the '90 ConVENTion. Great craftsmanship.

I can't even remember what it was advertising. I do remember it asks what is the most annoying thing in the world then cuts to the figure sitting in a plane next to another passenger as the figure opens its mouth looks around and laughs annoyingly irratating his co traveler.
I found it very funny.

I was away all day and finally got back on line. Matt was correct this figure is without question a Joel Leder creation.

This figure is in more than one commercial for Direct TV. I saw a second one last night. Nice figure and funny commercials!

Joel also made a great series of figuremaking books. Hard to find - but I'm fortunate to have a set in my collection. Even rarer, I have a two sets of lecture notes from two different years that Alan Semok gave figuremaking lectures at Venthaven in the 70s! Joel does phenomenal work.

I forgot about the Leder books, I have a set of those books as well, I haven't looked at them in a loooong time, but I do remember they were good. One of these days, I really need to go through all the printed material I've got, not only to remind myself of what I've got, but much of it, it's been so long since I looked at it, it would be fun to look through it all again.

(P.S. I finally got the video - thanks for the links Fonsy and Donald)
