Brian,
I've been wondering about the coin icons myself. Maybe we can contribute... Tony |

I got a mail regarding Mikes DVD today and will now ask the question that's going to come up sooner or later.
I am the proud owner of Mikes Knockout Coin Magic DVD and also his Lecture Video 1 & 2. Are you ready cause here it comes...... Does anyone know about any overlap between the above sources? Mikes just got so much great stuff it makes my head spin. I promised myself not to buy anything new as I have spent a small fortune in recent months on DVDs, Videos, Books, Coins Boxes, gaffed coins etc and yet I still fancy getting Mikes new DVD!!! My wifes getting concerned!!! Regards Alan |

The Encyclopedia is not routines, it is "sleights".

Hi Dan,
I am aware that this is a "sleights only" collection and I wondered about how many sleights covered in the new DVD are already dealt with by the other two "Knockout Coins" and the "Lecture Video". Regards Alan |

Hi everyone! I just got my own set from L&L, and am very impressed with the re-release. They did a great job on the re-mastering, as the old Videonics tapes never came out well - they weren't framed properly, and the transfer quality from PAL to NTCS lacked. Not now! L&L was also able to improve the graphics, edited the original footage to make it crisp, added classical music, and put in new titles and digital effects. I was very impressed! For the people who asked me, the moves on the tapes are obviously many of the moves I use in my peformances, so there is some overlap with the Knockout Coin magic series. However, there are a TON of moves on the new tapes/DVD's, many not ever published and that have not appeared anywhere else. The purpose of the tapes was to present several alternative moves for each category, that give you alternatives in your own magic. For example, there are a bunch of click passes. Some are basic, some advanced, and some depend on certain hand positions. So, you can learn a couple of them and use them to vary your routines, or substitute one of these for one you may already use.
What I didn't like was that I orignally filmed an introduction that was edited out in this re-release. In it I state that the moves used were either basic moves from Bobo and other sources, my own advanced techniques, published and not, and moves of other performers that appeared in print and that I adapted for use in my own magic. I stayed away from signature moves of other performers to avoid conflicts, and state in the intro that some of my interpretations of moves of other performers should not take away from their origin, but was only because I feel no two magicians often do the same move the exact same way due to different styles, different hand sizes, etc. Anyway, I was very impressed with the job they did, and hope you enjoy them as well. All the best, Michael Rubinstein
