Here is magic you will be able to do EASILY! As a fascinating interlude between effects, you'll be enthralled by rare photographs from Dai Vernon's personal archives. He does not appear in this tribute. Bruce Cervon was one of the Professor's closest friends and confidantes, gathering and guarding Dai's fabulous secrets for over forty-five years! He is the Dai Vernon expert. Vol. 1 contains the following reputation-making effects, sleights, techniques and routines directly from the Professor's repertoire (The Lost Inner Secrets) (running time: 115 minutes): No Sleight Triumph Shuttle-Cut Control The Second Campaign Vernon Double Lift The Fingerprint Card Trick Drop Switch A Match Made in Cincinnati Vernon Glide The Two-Thirteen Trick Alignment Move The Unadulterated Cutting the Aces DV Card Change Spellout with a Hitch One Hand Slip Cut Silk and Silver DV Cull Braue Reversal Techniques Downs Palm Henry Christ "Twist" Reverse Technique Coin Shuttle Fred Black Color Shuffle Vol. 2 (More Lost Inner Secrets) (running time: 120 minutes): The Tale of the Treasury-Worm Triple Turnover The Loving Couple DV Curry Turnover Substitute Out of Uniform Turn Around Peek Why Am I Here? These were the very first videos put out by a new company at the time: L&L Publishing. They are taken from the Vernon Chronicles books. They are outstanding. Every single effect is a winner. There is something for everybody on these tapes. Bruce Cervon is a great performer and a great teacher. His technique is impeccable. He died way too young. What a shame. He performs seated at a table for four participants, two men and two women. Cervon and James Patton discuss each trick both before the performance and before the explanation. The tapes are designed to be self-contained. In other words, all sleights needed for each effect are fully explained. While the blurb states that the magic is easy, some effects require a bit more skill than others, but there are no knuckle-busting sleights. There are also a few excellent non-card items as well. A Match Made in Cincinnati, on Vol. 1, which is essentially Matching the Cards, uses a faro shuffle to get into the setup. I altered that to using a setup deck, alternating red and black and contrasting faces. I use a deck switch to get it into play. It is so strong it can be used as a closer. I also perform No Sleight Triumph, and the Fingerprint Card Trick gets great reactions. On Vol. 2, Why Am I Here? is one I use all the time. Cervon also performs the Slow-Motion Ace Assembly, and seeing him do it, I was able to see how that last ace should be properly handled. This trick is also a great one. Bruce Cervon's Trans Mitt on Vol. 3 is incredible. And Dr. Daley's interlocking Setup is amazing, just mind-blowing in concept. There many, many other great tricks on these tapes. These tapes were released over 20 years ago. I hope they are released as DVDs sometime in the future. |

I had set up the list of effects as two columns with multiple spaces in between, but the program ran them together.
So the first line is No Sleight Triumph, Shuttle-Cut Control; the second line The Second Campaign, Vernon Double Lift, etc. Sorry about that. |

Maybe someone who knows Lou Falanga, Mike Maxwell, James Patton or Jim Sisti can find out some answers. Or maybe contact L&L by phone (1-800-626-6572) or email (LLPUB@aol.com). I felt that there should at least be a record that these tapes once existed. |
