Does it contain stunning, mind blowing effects you can do with just your body? No.
Is it a nice collection of different thing you can do with your body? Yes. A lot to the stuffis throw out type gags, that you are more likely to use with friends then in a performance (unless you MC a lot). Over all I’d say its fun, but not a must have. |

Here are a few of the effects. I’ll start with Suspendor (the trick on the cover) its more of a gymnastics feat. I don’t think I have the upper body strength for it, but if you do, it should work. There are 2 effects that make it look like you shrink as walk away from people. A way to vanish your head. The classic neck cracking, but without the cup, and variation for breaking your finger. 2 stretching fingers, 1 stretching thumb and shrinking pinky. 360 degree twist of the head (my person favorite). That covers a bit more that half the book. Hope that helps.

I just got Body Morphin yesterday and I have some thoughts actually quite a few. Not everything in this book is compleate magic, some are stunts and gags but everything in this book is cool and really can when you have nothing with you get you out of a pinch. Or if you want to show some one something with nothing on you this book is for you. It starts with Shrink man where as you are walking away from people you appear to shrink. I found this effect to be pretty cool and I know I will soon find myself on the street doing this The Vanishing head is a cool effect also and can be done with no prep I really consider this one of my favorites in the book and with some modifications I am thinking of adding it will make it truly even more mind boggling. The next effect is Suspendor and yes the picture on the cover is real no Photo Shop except maybe for the Body Morphin title I really to do this effect but it will take some practice still I will do it because it looks so D### cool! Wrist rotation is an effect that is great to do to anyone I often find myself doing this to people if I want to show them someting at a party and I have nothing on me. Ear Penetration Andrew teaches it this one is more of a gag but I would be lying if I haven't already done it three times today for people and it got a laugh so it must work! Neck Breaker- It is a cracking neck effect without and needed set up I did this for my mom last night and she yelled at me saying I am going to break my neck It is fun to scare those who love you and even those who don't. Knuckle buster is similar to Neck Breaker but with the hand once again my mother told me to stop. Missing Digit is an effect where you make you audiance think you are missing a finger havn't tried it yet but looks like fun.Finger Stretch 1 and 2 Both are how to make it look like you stretch your finger really long and it really makes your audiance do a double take if presented properly.Shrinking pinky- A good gag to start a routine with I am incorperating some of these effects as warm-up exercises before I start my colse-up I can't wait to see how it goes over. Thumb stretch is just as the name suggests and does the same thing to the audiance as Finger Stretch would. Insta-Mug is not 100% magic not 100% gag but 100% what I will be doing sometime soon basically you get mugged by no one you'll see when you get the book! Footloose this is probably my favorite effect in the book and is an illusion. It creates the appearance of one foot/leg passing through the other! I am still practicing so it looks great but from what I can tell it is going to kill! Twist-O-Rama is annother cool effect where you appear to twist your head all the way around(sort of like the Exocist except this time the desighner is Andrew Mayne not Dick Smith) I have used this illusion before and the reponce was "Oh my god what in the hell did you just do" that means everything to me I love it. The last effect is The Incredible Elevator Shrinking Machine- It is more of a trickish stunt where you shrink to a smaller version of you.
After reading the book I forgot I had the flu and started working in my room on this stuff and it is allot of fun and this sort of stuff just makes people smile so I must recomend this book. Not only is it a great book but I want to comment this booklet is a full sized booklet just by eyeing it 12 inches high and 7 inches across? I don't know measurements aren't my specialty but what I can say is it is well done well thought out and each effect is described extremly well and each effect has enough pictures in it that you could understand how to do the effects simply by looking at them. Very well done and allot of fun. At $15 including free shipping anywhere in the world I can't see why some one wouldn't check it out I have already gotten use out of it and can't wait to get even more. Andrews site is http://www.weirdthings.com that's all for now. Take Care, Kyle |
