I believe Eugene Burger has a routine called "A Voodoo ritual" on a old video. It's a Ash on Palm of hand routine. Does anyone know what the name of the video was/is?

It seems to be from his book titled Mastering The Art of Magic, published in 2000. I'm not sure if it was ever put on video or not.

It is also on the DVD "Close Up Gourmet".
Has anyone got any ideas that one could use for the ashes, since there isn't smoking in most the restaurants now? I thought about using paste shoe polish. But this could be to messy.

Pepper would probably not stick, but I have seen it done with lipstick. Ketchup maybe? If it was a rib place, some sticky barbecue would work nicely if the spectator does not mind messy hands. (and at a rib place that should not be a problem)
Reality is a real killjoy.

I've done it with a markerpen but you have to be quick with the inital move or you would leave your mark with a good impression.

It works fine with salt.

You could also try a stamp ink pad or eye shadow...

Eye shadow works great... Get Bill Abbot's Table Magic for more ideas for presenting this trick and ones like it.
