Hello, I have been practising a card palm, the instructions from the video I am watching tells me the points of pressure should be on the base of the thumb and the pinky finger. I find this quite awkward and impossible for me as I have very short pinky fingers and it makes it impossible to palm a card like that and I just drop it. Do you have any suggestions or tips on how I can improve?

I thought that because I had small hands it would make palming difficult, but just play around with different positions and see what works best for you. I don't worry about the card sticking out from behind my hand slightly, and I use my pinky to clip the card in my hand while bending it slightly.
Personally, I much prefer using the gambler's cop; I believe Daniel Madison released a video through Ellusionist detailing his work with it. All the best! |

I was under the assumptionn that you couldn't vary on the position at all, seems I was wrong, thank you for the advice. I will also investigate into the "Gambler's Cop" that you mentioned. |

Work on it in front of a mirror (and at different angles too) and this will let you know where your exposed angles are. You can then work on these and if necessary reposition yourself mid routine (as long as there's justification from the audience's perspective of course) so no one gets wise. You'll get to the point that you don't even think about hiding it as it becomes natural.

From my point of view, put the card on the palm, and see where the two corners at your hands' position, and use those positions to palm the card.
