Some people were BORN to do what they do. Aldo was without a doubt BORN to perform magic and entertain. And because of that, he excelled.
Some people come into the world, and when they leave it, they leave it a better place for their having been here. The legacy they leave behind is smiles, laughter, and the music of magic singing in people's hearts. Like so many of the greats before him, Aldo didn't just perform magic. He BECAME the magic. He WAS the show. He had a way to bring about the greatest secret in magic. And what is that secret? It's the ability to make people love you! His audiences loved him! They couldn't help it! They found themselves under the spell of his charisma and charm. From the first effect he performed to the last, his warmth exuded from him and enraptured all who sat captive to the spell he weaved. And above all, he embodied the old show business adage "Always leave 'em wanting more!" Indeed, they wanted more Aldo! This man's shoes, I'm sad to report, will never be filled....
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

A giant of a broken wand. :/
The Godfather, Vinny Marini is heart broken behind this. "Aldo was a treasured friend whom I spent many wonderful nights at the Magic Castle over the years. He was a wonderful magician and even greater human being... Much respect from La Famiglia. Sincere condolences to Rachel and the family." I really appreciated Aldo's wonderful magic and teachings, and can remember La Famiglia member, Rannie Raymundo from the Phillipines telling me a story of how when Aldo visited down there(?), as they walked through the winding streets of Manila, all the towns folk just marveled at the great size and magic from this gentle giant of a man. Aldo was a great performer and magic creator. His lectures were entertaining and I also learned a lot of magic.
Very sad news. He will be missed. BJ |

Rachel Wild Colombini "The website below has been set up by some dear friends of ours after the terrible events of last week. You can not imagine how I felt when they suggested a fundraiser especially after the magic community helping me so much when I was sick. Of course I am still inundated with my medical bills from 3 years ago and now of course I have not only the medical expenses of the last few days but also the fact that although the business will remain open there will not be any new Aldo DVDS I will continue as best I can to keep Aldo's legacy alive and continue to ship DVDS & tricks, send E-Books etc, as he would have wanted to existing customers and to the new up and coming magicians. The loss of Aldo, not only to me of course, but also the magic community is devastating, it is with regret that again I ask for help. Believe me when I say, a prayer or a quick email is just as important to me. If you wish to make a donation that is also very much appreciated. With heart felt thanks Rachel (and Aldo, because he is always with me) Colombini" https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/7......=1899321

I never met Aldo, but we corresponded a couple of times by email. He actually gave me a card trick and explanation... a trick he said he never published. His teaching on his dvds I have purchased have been so helpful to me. I just love his style. He was an absolute master of the elmsley count! He was a giant and will be so greatly missed!

Sad to hear of this news.
Aldo helped kick-start my online business when he contacted me and wanted to purchase 100 leather cones for his Cone-tact routine. It was that specific purchase that made me take things to the next level to allow larger production runs. RIP Aldo

Aldo was the main reason for me to start with magic performance in an entertaining way back in the late eighties. He is still my favourite magician. I have a framed photo of him with a warm smile and his arm around me when he was in Sweden with Rachel 2006 lecturing that I look at every day since then - making me smile. He really was entertaining and funny in a kind and warm way. Although we were not the closest friends he has always been my guiding magic star. Right now I am very sad. He always used to end his e-mails "Best Always, Aldo" and that is what he will be for me: Best, Always! My thoughts to Rachel.

Hard to believe it's been almost two years since Aldo's passing. I can't think of him without smiling. His corny jokes and sense of magic still brings out a chuckle. I saw him lecture several times and even though I knew what he was going to do, I was amazed. What a great man!

He did the very best repeat card routine as an M.C. I always wondered if he wrote it up. Does anyone know?
