Alan, have you heard of Michael Ammar's Bill Change? I remember hearing some things about it that sort of sounded similar to what you mentioned.

Michael Ammar wrote up the $100 bill change in his book, "Magic of Michael Ammar". It is pretty much the standard method but he made some minute changes on where the fold/creases are that make it smoother. I use these small changes to this day.
In "Roger Klause in Concert" by Lance Pierce, he talks about half moves. This is a real subtlety but can make a difference. Especially with the new Polymer Bills. The problem with the tipless bill change and Sanada gimmick is that you can not do a complete empty display at the end, showing both hands empty with fingers apart. You most likely will have to cut heat and reform your TT to get the perfect fit you need for a smooth bill change. I use a jumbo TT and cut it down to size so it just covers the folded bill perfect. I then heat it and reform it to the width I need. As for getting caught, done correctly, you can do the $100 change surrounded under heat. Along with technique, smoothness and confidence are important. Just my thoughts from much experience |

Zauberman, I appreciate your concerns. Actually, if you watch Jay Scott Berry's video, you can show both hands cleanly and openly in a bill switch with a Sanada. Much less folding and tt manipulation. You can do it surrounded. YOU merely have to have good teaching in using a Sanada. I am spoiled because I manufacture my own, which can be used close up and are invisible at that range. The same cannot be said for the Sanadas which everyone else sells. I have had this confirmed by other magicians.
