My video review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pX17eBUBRg In STAND UP MAGIC you will witness Tom Wright performing his number one set at high level corporate dinners. Naturally, this material, has made Tom one of the most sought after magicians in Europe today. Key Points: Six solid routines including full performance patter and presentation as well as Tom's philosophies on Stand Up Magic. My Thoughts: The target audience on this is specifically magicians who perform at restaurants or corporate functions. Don't buy this for the magic, buy it if it you think it will help your career. 7/10 |

This is a really good DVD from a really good worker. I think standup magic is a great idea for tables. Who's tried it?

Me.
It's a bit uncomfortable at first. Especially asking people to stand. However, once you get used to it things just click. There's more focus on you from the immediate table and the wider crowd. A great idea from Tom.
When the chips are down, the duvet is uncomfortable.

I like the bouncing up and down of the tennis ball after it's produced, although performing conditions won't always allow that, but if conditions are right, it's a good way to show the ball is solid and it detracts attention away from the cup for a moment, making people feel the trick is over, before producing the second ball.

I'm coming very late to the party but I serioulsy think this is worth saying, so many are missing the point.
You are there as a service for the restaurant. Average table of 8= @$20 per head conservative)$160 - $350 of potential lost business x number of tables = big loss of customers. No one like paying for hot food and getting it stone cold. (don't try it on, you know you don't like paying top money and getting cold spoilt food). If the waiters are rude and interrupt, I think that speaks volumes about how the waiters feel about certain things. Regardless about how good the magic is, are you really trying to say loosing customers is good for a magic career? |

Why are you talking about lost business?
A good restaurant magician will drive more business.

I would highly recommend it just to watch Tom work and to see his brilliant routines.
