Hello Pete,
To satisfy your curiosity, all I can say that is the DNA results were deemed "inconclusive." Actually, there was never more than anecdotal evidence to support this. As a young boy, in early word association tests—I burst forth with square /MAGIC! and also peg / SYSTEM! The combination of peg / system did cause REM, profuse sweating, and heighted awareness over the years. All most "coincidentally yours." In the late 1960s and early 1970s, scant few magic texts really “taught.” They described, documented, annotated, and filled up pages—but did not exhibit a clear path to performing success with the material. As far as I’m concerned, that was and is the "HARRY LORAYNE DIFFERENCE." As time went on, and I was able to travel a lot more—I had the opportunity to get to know many “authors” first hand. In stark contrast to some that were “like Gerald Ford, only without the ‘pizzazz’ – Harry was different. The enthusiasm Harry has always had for magic has never wafted or dissipated—and is evident to anyone who has spent a bit of time with him. It is this continual enthusiasm that generates more of the same, and has made Harry Lorayne “one of a kind”—and a very rare and inspiring kind it is. I love to have fun and joke around a bit, and if you can’t have fun with Magic—I really think it is time to explore worm-farming or Sea Monkey training. So, what I can say from the heart is that I appreciate Harry Lorayne personally and professionally, and have personally spent many, many happy hours working through his writings, and many more performing his brand of magic. Some authors have difficulty writing up the works of others with accuracy; it is a rare gift. The pages of Apocalypse serve as vivid testimony that Harry can do, has done, at a level of quality and quantity that few aspire to, much less ever achieve. It wasn’t that all that long ago that I had no computer, and if you wanted to get something to NYC—you had better lick some stamps. A couple videos were sent to friend Harry, along with very terse hand-scribbled notes. A brief phone call or two was all that followed, and I was perplexed as to why Harry had no great amount of questions? I was worried that what was to be printed in Apocalypse would be missing vital details, or that the gremlins would allow a few things to fall through the cracks. My obsessing was for naught, when the material appeared in Apocalypse it was beautifully taught—and it was obvious that Harry had performed those routines prior to publishing them. I was astonished that Harry could do it that quickly, and that well. Such is the talent of Harry Lorayne. I appreciate Harry Lorayne, and the tapestry of magic is a far better place for his efforts. I’m just plain proud of him, and believe we are all lucky to have him. I can’t think of a more appropriate venue to express these sentiments than right here, right now. Thank you, Harry. |
