When did you first have the idea for http://www.thetradeshowuniversity.com/ , how long did it take you to complete the project, how many video segments are there, how many total hours of instruction? Are there any bonuses beyond the instruction?

Well... Paul Richards was the one who inspired me to do it. Originally, I had thought of a book. But Paul suggested the streaming video course, which I ended-up creating. As you know Randy, since I you knew about the idea from the beginning, it took 2 1/2 years to complete. There are over 200 video segments covering over 20 hours of classroom instruction. In short, the project is massive and the content is extremely comprehensive. Much of what I've addressed here is addressed in the course, only in far more detail.
There are several bonuses that come with course enrollment. The Ironclad Contract alone would cost a performer more to have done than enrolling in the program. I think the Scripting Profile and Scripting Outline and two other bonuses that would prove invaluable to the newcomer. Also, there is a free template for proposals - sometimes it may be necessary for you to present a formal proposal to a perspective client. In addition, there are a couple other free bonuses. I would recommend that anyone who is interested go to www.thetradeshowuniversity.com to check it out. |

I have known Harrison for over 35 years and I can say with confidence that anything that he tackles is done to perfection! I have seen his work on The Trade Show University from the start and no detail or information is overlooked. He is a master of the trade show business and magic. He is one of the first magicians I will ask his opinion when I am working on a new routine. Congratulation Harrison as the guest of honor, well deserved. I am proud to call you my friend.

I have worked with Harrison at different trade shows for many years. We always had a great time at lunch and dinners, and I always picked his brain about the business. He was much more experienced at working trade shows than I. But you can only learn so much in conversation, no matter how much the other guy knows. Harrison asked me to look over the site. I was stunned by the detail and comprehensiveness. This is really a PHD course in performing for Trade Shows. There was a lot more to know than I even realized. I wish I had had this when I was still working trade shows.

Harrison, check the link to trade show university in your comment post above. If I enter the URL I can get to your site, but not by clicking the link. Just a FYI.

Thanks inferno, as you can see by the number of posts I've made here on the Café, I need to become more astute.

Wow Roger... I forget you've been out of the country and we haven't talked as much as the old days. Essentially, The Trade Show University is a streaming video series consisting of over 200 video lessons to teach people how to enter and succeed in the Trade Show Arena. It was painstakingly done and helps those entering the business to avoid the pitfalls that I encountered along the way. The idea is to streamline their path, while giving them everything they need from A-Z.

It is an amazing website. It not only has the information on how to become and succeed as a trade show performer, it plugs the student into resources like books, magazines, websites and organizations, and has legally written contracts and other documents that are worth the price of the course.

Can you download the videos for later review in some way, such as for future reference? How long will the University be in running it's course? Any payment plan available?

It was years ago, in the hot sands of the desert, when I first ran across Pop Haydn, unaware that he was a certifiable genius, skilled in botany, pursued the outer limits of copper wire and radio waves, much less was a time traveler. I did ask Pop what the secret was to his numerous awards in close-up, parlor magic, stage, and lecturing. Pop replied, “I'm a Specialist.”
A testimonial by Pop Haydn is high praise indeed, for rumor has it that not only did Pop innovate the Trade Show, he actually invented Trade itself. Back in his days in the Yukon, the fur trappers had fur, but little else and were forced to live a miserable existence. Other natives of the day had various consumables and although that provided some measure of sustenance, they had no fur and were uncommonly cold. It was Pop that suggested that those with an excess of fur could actually barter their excess inventories, gaining access to more refined comforts and in so doing, not only live a happier existence, but they also had the opportunity to display their excess vigor to various female companions also in search of a better lifestyle. It was on that fateful day, in the Yukon, that the course of Mankind was changed for the better. The rest is history. A testimonial to the http://www.thetradeshowuniversity.com/ by Pop Haydn is not just a mere testimonial by one skilled with Miracle Water and Electric Oil, or from one that allegedly suggested to Einstein that E = mc2 made a lot more sense than his original E = mc, for Pop's own time travel experience proved that merely dividing by the speed of light alone won't get you to Toledo, much less a proper time-travel experience. A testimonial to TSU by Pop comes from the man who was actually there when the first trade actually took place and you can't beat that. |

I'm quoting your post as I did not want it to get lost behind my salute to Pop. |

Hey Don... Randy is correct. The videos are steaming only. However, the enrollment lasts an entire year so one can go back as often as they like and watch any or all videos over and over. Unfortunately, there is no payment plan. I believe it's PayPal. All of the payment options are no longer totally in my hands.

Hi Harrison. As you know I've purchased The Trade Show University and I LOVE IT! You already know this from the private email I've sent you. My question is... How scary was it to leave a "Real" job and decide to perform at Trade Shows?
|
HarrisonCarroll V.I.P. Buffalo, NY 118 Posts |
Hey Mike... I'm glad you like the course. It took almost three years to complete, so it makes me feel the time was worth it.
I wouldn't say scary, but it was certainly a big decision. Once I made the decision I didn't look back. I think it was more scary for my wife than for me. Before making the change I prepared for it and developed a plan. Then, I stuck to the plan. Looking back, it's the best thing I ever did. |
