I started out learning balloons from Michael Floyd's youtube channel, and then went on to learn some more elaborate designs from Holly "Twister Sister" Hopper's channel. I'm finally getting to the point where -- if I forget part of a design -- I can visualize the end result and figure out from that which twists to do. I can do 13 multi-balloon designs from memory now.
I went through "Balloon Sculpture Made Easy" and it's a little too basic for me. I was thinking of ordering Mark Byrne's "Bad to the Balloon" but I was a little concerned that they were all hat designs and there's no talking. Do you guys recommend this DVD or do you have other suggestions? Thanks! |

Most David Brenion stuff is great and offers a "base design" that can be slightly adjusted to make many diffrent designs.

I have the Mark Byrne DVDs (all of them!). They are great! I can't give them enough praise. The 'no talking' means that they are not limited to *only* English speaking audiences. If you work in restaurants, they are PERFECT. Balloon hats make it easy for the manager to see that you have been working. Other balloon creations tend to be placed on the floor while folks are eating, and can't be seen.
I would suggest that you look at www.balloon-animals.com for other possibilities. Michael Floyd sells balloon instructional downloads from this site. He has training from the Brenions, Buster Balloon, Matt Falloon & Sam Cremeens. Once purchased, the downloads are always available. With today's internet, you can have the videos within minutes of placing the order. Bottom line: You will not be disappointed with any training material from well known authors. Some material may not suit your current situation, or your current ability, but you will benefit from the techniques taught. As always, your mileage may vary. What suits me, right now, may not be the most appropriate material for you. Baz |

Great, thanks to both of you. I might have to check out Mark Byrne's stuff after all. Good point about the hats btw.
