I am working on my cups and balls (there is a joke in there somewhere....) and I need a little help/point in the right direction:

Where would one learn the wand vanish (the Dai Vernon one)? Is it on the 2nd Ammar DVD? or a specific Vernon book? In addition, are there other wand moves/tricks/flourishes? if so, which book would you suggest?

thanks in advance!

I'm not sure which Ammar DVD it is on. However, since Mr. Ammar uses that vanish in his routine, you will also find it on the Greater Magic Video Library "best of" volume on the Cups and Balls. I am not at home at the moment, so I can't check the Ammar book "The Complete Cups and Balls." I dimly recall a description in there, too.

Not much help, but it's at least a direction.

Ammar, The complete cups & balls, vol 2
P. 48 in the ebook.
Both have a few more vanishes using a wand.

Also in Eddy Ray, Complete Course in Cups and Balls Vol 2

Another reference comes to mind: "The Magic of Michael Ammar" book.

In "The Dai Vernon Book of Magic" and the pamphlet of just the cups routine have a fine description.

Kent... Very true... But Bri went beyond detailed in his book.

I still enjoy your C&B routine and watch your video often.

Take care,

Bruce,

I too think Brian's work on the Mora Vanish is excellent.

Oh, and thank you!

I learned it from the Ammar dvd mentioned earlier.
I was a green, brand new magic boy at age 44 and the cups and balls became my passion.
I spent every day fro three months learning the Vernon routine and today I have added other peoples moves to make the routine truly mine.
The wand spin was very difficult, so I put red tape on one end of the wand, and yellow tape on the other.
I worked slow and easy and got it!
Now I rarely use is as it is really quite unnecessary although I can do it if I want, also, a nicely weighted ball helps.
