Have to say that this is a great little gimmick. Totally love it!!!
Some great routines included. Takes the 2 card transpo to another level. I always love to have certain effects that you can carry separately like a packet trick but it makes sense to do so. This one does because you are folding the cards, so it's natural that you would not want to ruin a deck. But that's only if you wish to do the basic 2 card transpo, for other effects you can involve the entire deck if you so desire. But it's great to be able to remove 2 cards from your wallet and perform this amazing quickie effect. Also, very nice touch that you receive two gimmicks. Lots of possibilities for this and kudos to Dave Loosley for the idea and Rob Bromley for making them so well. It's so visual and then so cool that you can immediately offer to hand the cards out at the end. I highly recommend this!!! |

A very fine release, Dave. This will go nicely with Rick Lax' Rip and Fold.
How many magicians does it take to change a lightbulb? Regardless, for magicians darkness is a time for d'lite.

I'm very pleased with Inflexion. I road tested the simple two card version over the weekend and it elicited gasps from spectators. My favorite routine though is the hyped-up Dr. Daly's Three Phase routine but it does require extra cards and some bare bones set-up. I might pick-up a couple of one way forcing decks so that I can perform it more frequently. Overall, the gimmick works as advertised, and this could become a useful utility for many other applications.

I got this the other day, and...
I wish I loved it more. It's a really clever little gimmick, and there are two of them for repeats, and the DVD is typical, decent, straightforward Alakazam. BUT...I don't think I'll be using it. It has sat on my desk now for days and I just can't work up the enthusiasm for taking it out and giving it a a go in the real world. Why? I'll tell you. Effect no. 1. This is the one that Dave Looseley likes best. You take two folded cards out of your wallet, say a king and a three and display them. You fold them in half again, and mix them up. "Here, take one," you say and hand it to the spectator, "but keep it folded." Folding back a tiny corner, you reveal that you have the three. Therefore he has the king. With a wave, your three changes to a king and your spectator opens his to reveal he has the three. My problem is this: at no point is the spectator allowed to see what card he is holding, until the very end. That's not strong. With a standard card transpo, using a TC or a DL, the spec is CONVINCED he/she is holding a particular card, when in fact he is not. With this, you just say, "here, hold onto this," and then you don't even show what you have. Instead, you show a teeny-tiny corner of what you have. Trick no. 2 - the three phase Dr Daley thing. Hmmm. It's better: it builds from a regular 2-card transpo, but my is it clumsy to handle, and can't be got into on the fly. You've more or less got to open with it. Trick no. 3 - the Open Prediction, This simply won;t work with my gimmicks. They do not reveal enough of the index for the spectator to be certain what the card is. They could tell it was a red three, say, but not the suit. Poor. It's such a shame because, had this been better, I could see myself using it a lot. I don't understand why the gimmicked corner has been made so tiny: you could easily double the size of the revealed portion which would be much more natural, and would not leave the specs thing, "why is he only showing me such a teensy bit?" |

Hi Ross,
Firstly thank you for purchasing Inflexion, I really appreciate all feedback I get on my products.I have performed this for the past couple of years and in all honesty I am yet to have a spectator want to open the card in there hand before the transposition takes place. The small amount of card on show really is enough to convince the spectator that I am holding the card I say I am. Its a shame you haven't been excited to try this out however I would really encourage you to give the two card version a go as it never fails to get a great reaction when I perform it. Thank you again for your review. Kind Regards Dave |

Title: Inflexion
Creator: David Loosley Publisher: Alakazam MSRP: $ 30 Skill Level: Intermediate DVD Run time: 1 hour 27 minutes Type of effect: card switch Manufacturer's Write Up: "The best trick I've seen at Blackpool... Superb!" - Jeff McBride 2016 Alakazam Magic is proud to present Dave Loosley's killer three phase transposition effect, straight from his working set. Inflexion is an easy to perform visual transposition between two playing cards. The spectator experiences ultra-visual magic as they witness the precise moment that a playing card changes place with the one inside their own hand. How accurate is the ad copy? Nothing deceptive here What's in the box? DVD and needed gaff pieces Key points: Inflexion comes supplied with a full in-depth training DVD and two custom made gimmicks created by Dave Loosley and manufactured by master card engineer Rob Bromley. How are the production values: Great! It's David & Peter Nardi in that green screen British living room we've all seen before. Is it well made: The gaff is incredible - I have never seen anything like it on this scale. Is it well taught: yes, and it is even taught with a few variations My thoughts (what I personally liked/disliked): I liked everything about this from the DVD instruction to the gaff - this is a dynamite product. Storage? Does it "pack flat?" All you need is the gaff card and one extra thing. Does it "play big?" This is a great addition to Dr Daley's last trick (which is one of David Blaine's go to tricks) aka "two card Monte" Difficulty / Skill level required: Intermediate - it really isn't that difficult but it does involve a few "moves" that would come a little easier to someone who had a little more experience. How much arts and crafts are involved? you will need to assemble the gimmick, but the hard stuff has all been done for you. How practical is this in the real world? (can it really be done?) I'd say yes - but it's typical gaff card magic - so you'll have to get it "in" and "out" with no detection. Overall score: let's toss out the traditional score of 1-10 and make this something that we all can appreciate and understand. X Very Satisfied _____ Somewhat Satisfied _____ Neither Satisfied or Dissatisfied _____ Somewhat Dissatisfied _____ Very Dissatisfied _____ No Opinion This takes that old 2 card Monte routine and shoots it up with lightning - the spectator actually witnesses the switch happen in a blink of their own eye. + Hey do you want to see my full review with even more of my opinions and ideas? When I saw the demo video I didn't think much of this effect. I don't know why it just didn’t capture my imagination. In the springtime I took a trip to Alakazam. Dave demo it for me wow I was so wrong.
I took my Dad (non magician) with me for a trip. My Dad said this was his favourite. Dave showed us his opener. You show the spectator two cards, E.G King of spades and 6 of Hearts. They only get to look at the cards for a few moments. You ask if they can remember the colours. Next you show the cards again for a few seconds. This time you ask the they can remember what both cards are. Now you fold the cards in half and give them a quick mix. You give one card to the spectator and you keep the other. You peak your card and ask the spectator to guess what card they are holding without looking. You now show them your card and in the click of a finger they see your card change. This is an amazing effect. It's great as a quick opener. I would describe my skill level as intermediate. It takes a little practice to make the change look smooth. I have shown this a few times now, it’s getting a great reaction. |

I have been doing this for few months now. The 2 card transpo out of the wallet mostly.
Now, I am thinking of taking this up to the stage. Has anyone tried the routine Dave shared on the DVD bout the power of suggestion? I would love to hear any feedback or discuss it. |
