Hi!
Have anyone else heard about this amazing principle? I'm not a mathematician, so I can't grasp how it works, but I'm amazed by it. I'm currently trying it with lots of variations to see the effects (I don't even have a full deck at hand right now) and I'm amazed how it works even when you variate it (for example, if instead of using heaps of 10 you use heaps of 5). What are your thoughts on this principle? I'm particularly interested on working with variations (smaller deck, different heap sizes, etc) and ways of disguising it in an effect (Please, I'm NOT looking for exposure on marketed effects!) |

Martin Gardner (patron saint of Magical Equations) had a nice version called "Paths To God": http://www.numericana.com/answer/magic.htm#god
James Grime gives a good presentation of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRI4XtnJxXo ...and then explains it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeJD98Zrmu4 I also recommend Ivars Peterson's post: http://musemath.blogspot.com/2007/05/up-......eve.html |
