Magicians Amaze in 107th Annual "Salute to Magic," May 7 at Queens Theatre
Evening-Length Show Features Award-Winning Magicians, Including Jay Mattioli (featured on America's Got Talent); Lady of Magic Jania Taylor; Illusionists The Outerbridges; and London's Comedy Magician John Lenahan Plus: Mortician-Magician Teddy Lee Honored as 2016 Magician of the Year The Society of American Magicians, Parent Assembly Number 1, will present the 107th Annual Salute to Magic, featuring award winning magicians from home and abroad, May 7 at Queens Theatre. The Salute to Magic is the longest-running annual magic show anywhere and has featured performances by many of the greats of magic, including Harry Houdini, Dante, Cardini, Dai Vernon and many more. "The Salute to Magic is an evening of unbeatable magic," said Nina Schindler, Vice President of the Parent Assembly and Producer of the event. "It is jam packed with mystery, wonder, and illusion from some of the best magicians in the world.” The show will be presented Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. at Queens Theatre (14 United Nations Avenue South, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens). Tickets are just $45, available online at http://queenstheatre.org/content/other-events or by calling the theatre Box Office at 718-760-0064. Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the Queens Theatre Box Office, Tuesday through Friday 12 p.m. to 6 p. m., and two hours before all Queens Theatre Shows. Founded in 1902 in Martinka’s magic shop in New York City, The Society of American Magicians, the oldest and most prestigious magical society in the world, for one night and one show only, is bringing five of the most talented magicians from around the world to New York to celebrate the Art of Magic. The Salute will feature performances by Jay Mattioli (who was featured on America's Got Talent); acclaimed Lady of Magic Jania Taylor; leading light of the London Comedy Magic scene, John Lenahan; and, the show's headlining act, Canada’s internationally-renowned illusionists, The Outerbridges, with their unique “Clockwork Mystery Illusions.” The event will also feature the presentation of the Magician of the Year honor to Teddy Lee, probably the USA’s only Magician and Mortician. Lee was a former President of the Assembly and has made many significant contributions to its ongoing activities. |
