Hi,
I hope this doesn't violate the rules for revealing things but I definitely consider this a flourish and would like to share what I came up with for it. I saw the idea in a book I got from the library when I was a kid and have recently improved upon it, maybe someone else has already done it. The effect is 2 silks, a red and a green are pulled from a silk rose supposedly pinned to your lapel, these can then be used for a color changing silks routine, etc. While the example I am giving isn't the best looking, it can be made to look a lot nicer with care. The way I do it is to tie the red and green silk together then wrap this around a pencil, red first then green, the red must be wrapped with a bit sticking out the end and in the shape of a rose, the green behind this but overlapping so they don't fall apart. The whole lot incl pencil is pushed through the slot in your lapel and the pencil removed ensuring the end of the green silk is poking out the front to both imitate a leaf and stop it unraveling. Check out the pictures. Cheers, Winston. Click here to view attached image. |

From stage or on a cabaret floor this would be a good looking idea. The rose fold (single color) tries to emulate the petals of the flower so it can be worn a little closer -- but if you are turned on by silks this is a good start. Using good silk, folded and wound properly you have a winner.

Beautiful!
Years ago I served in a fellow magician's wedding. From the flower to silk, two doves were produced and each had a wedding ring tied to it's leg with a ribbon. It was very special. Enjoy your magic. SCHEME! |
