Harry Robson's H.O.W. Wallet, while not truly small compared to many other wallets, is the only bi-fold (i.e., more or less "normal" looking in the US) wallet I know of that's designed for signed-card-to-envelope. There are many excellent and fairly small normalish-looking wallets (Tony Miller's stand out as well made, functional and on the smaller side of the range), but to have the card appear in a truly and completely sealed envelope from a fairly common-looking wallet, the H.O.W. is, I think, among the best options. Note that the H.O.W. is really made to be used with Dave Bonsall's envelopes (propdog.co.uk) which average ~40 cents each, so that should be factored into the cost.

Thanks I looked at some reviews for the real mans wallet and it looks good and not too expensive. But for some reason I think it would be more effective if the card was in a zipped compartment is thera cheap wallet that has that?

Once you decide on a wallet, be sure to look at the marketplace here in the Café and on ebay for it. You can save quite a bit if you find what you are looking for. Always worth a first look. Also Hocus Pocus has good sales, though some of the saving is lost in the form of their shipping and handling charges.
Also, something to think about: Earl Nelson used to do an excellent ring to envelope-in-a-wallet routine. He once made the observation that no one ever said, "Wow....how did the ring get in the wallet?" It was always, "Wow, how did the ring get into the envelope?" There is a case to be made that the wallet is expensive window dressing for ring/card/whatever to envelope. Yes a wallet can aid in the loading, but there are plenty of clean methods for envelope-only loading. The point is, it is worth thinking through how necessary the wallet is, especially if money is an issue. You can certainly get the same effect from the audience's point of view with just an envelope. On the flip side, I like the hip-pocket Mullica with a zippered compartment for C2W....no envelope to mess with, instant reset, no jacket required and the the item coming out of the zippered compartment is just as strong as if it came out of an envelope. And, BTW, I got mine off ebay...new...for about half of retail. |

Must it be a wallet? Jonathan Kamm's TOIBOX system works with cheap mint tin boxes. If price is the main point: the TOIBOX download is at 20$. And I think as a signed card to impossible location that could be a great ACR ending.

There are some ways to do card to wallet without a gimmicked wallet which you could also look into. I've always used a method which I've been told is very similar to the method described in the Card to Wallet Book by Jerry Mentzer. There are impromptu methods that get the card into the bi-fold of the wallet but not into any of the pockets (aka jamming the card in there). With Mentzer's method the card appears to come from the top pocket of the wallet along with cash etc. My adaptation on that requires a little one-time setup, but has the card found face down in a credit card pocket in the wallet, even behind other credit cards if wanted.
I don't want to discuss methods here but feel free to PM me and I could try my best to explain what I've been doing for my card to wallet As for sealed envelopes into a wallet, that's another beast entirely. Something close I could think up is the Mullica wallet. |

The Wizard's Wallet (described in The Wizards' Journal #20 by Spellbinder and Steve Dusheck) is a simple Dollar Store wallet that you modify slightly to perform a variety of effects (which puts it in the "best value" category). The card to wallet is unique in that as you perform other effects, a folded card is seen in one of the slide-in pockets of the wallet. The last effect you perform is to have a card chosen and signed, which then vanishes from the deck. The spectator himself removes the folded up card that has been in the wallet since long before the card was chosen and signed, unfolds it and displays it as his signed chosen card for a knock-out finale.
