Perfect ESP by Nardi & Spelman

ok ... it's Christmas, time to look and find our "lost magical treasures" for the family get-together.
I had forgotten all about this beauty.

latest? (yes I just came across this whilst looking into my archives)
greatest? (absolutely, what a great routine).

The routine ... take a look ...

A squeaky clean routine ... how nice

Outstanding. Could be a good follow-up to my routine, "UNFAZED".

I shall have to have a close look at your site Ben ...

I follow this routine with Max Maven's "Shape-Up" from VideoMind Dvd Vol 2.
The spectator deals the ESP cards face up, and stops whenever they choose.
Of course, the exact match is the only card inside the card box which has been in view throughout.

Fantastic stuff.

Is this a new take Peter's effect "ESPerfect"?

Not sure how I missed this, but this is a great idea, I really like this! Great routine. Very simple, very deceptive. Great thinking, Mr. Nardi.

I just wanted to add that there is a certain Bob Cassidy move that can be used with this, I think it might be a touch cleaner. Those that have this and are also familiar with Bob's work will probably know what I mean. Either way, great idea.

This is the best ESP matching card trick that I've ever seen.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhXTqTPuGQ4

It's called "Jazz Mentalism" and it's on the Magic Box Submodalities DVD.

Thanks to Café member Towledge for sending this to me.

Jazz Mentalism is my go to effect with ESP cards, but I really like Perfect ESP for a more impromptu version that can be done with double blank business cards.

I remember seeing Perfect ESP on the Unexpected DVD (by Nardi and Spelmann) over 10 years ago! It was definetly the stand out piece for me amongst the other (great) effects! I have been using it ever since, especially as it can be done impromptuly using business cards or pieces of paper if you wanted. And it gets very good reactions!

Just curious why you recommend using double blank business cards.
Is it because you are concerned the spec might suspect the cards are somehow marked?
If so, it would seem easy to eliminate that possibility.

Or perhaps it adds a possible discrepancy with the move?
I’m wondering because I thought I could use a regular biz card.

I like using double blanks because it eliminates the idea that they could be marked. And markings are definitely the most common explanation among laypeople with basic ESP match effects.

It works just fine with regular biz cards if you want, though.

I agree but I do really like the idea of performing this totally impromptu. Even marking them on the spot, possibly with numbers if I needed to be quick.
But I would have to emphasize not to let me see any of the card and make sure to place my card down first.

Also, I think having them write the numbers on one set of cards while you write on the other would make them less likely to think they are marked.
And in certain situations I could even use their cards.
