Thanks Ondrej. That explains why USPCC is out of question. I believe that the problem of faro is due to tiny burrs caused by the stamping process which is normal phenomenon. I wonder if those are possible to remove by using steel or plastic scrape like I show in the pictures. The burrs are only on the other side of the card and it should be found by fingering the edge. It may be of very tiny. This also explains why the faro gets better after you have used the deck for a while.
I tried to add a picture but it doesn't show out.The size is OK (427 x 700 / 73.90 kB). It is seen here: http://www.mattikaki.fi/magic/skraba.jpg |

Yes Matti Kaki. I think you are 100% correct. I haven't tried scraping it out, but I can see that working. Several riffle shuffles should do the job as well. Happy New Year!

It seems like Hocus Pocus in the US and Propdog in the UK have the second edition already.

Is there a way to know whether we are ordering the second edition? Is there any documentation on what small quality-of-life improvements were made to the markings?

The one-way markings if used as back markings are more easily identifiable from a distance as the upper mark of the suit marking has been enlarged. All four marks for aces has been enlarged in the two-way marking system. The markings for deuces have been enlarged as well. The cards have a deeper linen structure. All face cards have larger pips than the first edition and the one-way feature have been emphasized. And then there is something else added which is up to everyone to find and figure out on their own. o. |

What advantages are there, with this deck versus the GPS deck. You can state the advantages possibly without giving away the methodology. for example, "easier to read edges" etc. I don't want to buy every edge ma...ed deck, only the best.

Well, this is the only edge ma**ed deck I have. And I like this so much that I do not plan to get another one - not anytime soon. Still learning and practicing, but a couple routines I do with this simply kill. This along with DMC are the best mar**ed decks for me.
It is better to be trusted than liked.

The cards are great. The second edition Butterflies faro pretty easily (from the faces) once you work a bit with them. Faro from the top is quite a challenge, though.

They are indeed great, but I prefer the V1 ones, because they changed the paper and I felt them much more buttery. Yea Faro with butterfly playing cards its not that easy.
I hope to see the colorful edition soon. |
