Just curious how many peeps use card effects such as French Kiss and Double Back, etc for stand up/parlour venues?
For French Kiss, I am working on a piece that has to do with a "chemistry Test" for 2 volunteers. It's a pretty funny bit where the 2 spec's ae deemed "compatible" if the cards are able to switch places when they touch. For Double Back....I tell some funny personal experiences regarding "Awkward situations"...and ask if anybody has ever wanted to "change places" at one point in their life ... Of course the cards are also put in an awkward situation and the transpo follows. The patter seems to flow and although not big and vibrant effects, it has gotten some good reactions in my first and only show I used them in. Do you feel it's a good idea to keep effects like this in a stand up show for 30-50 plus peeps. Thanks |

I personally wouldn't use double back. It's an intimate in-the-hands type trick. However, french kiss can be made to play very big, and keeping the cards in their teeth keeps focus up at face level, which is important for stand up/parlor. Some other good card effects would be cards across, homing card card/deck to wallet. Jon Armstrong does Paul Harris' Reflex, which I think is a very good effect to do stand up as well.
