I wanted to reccomend the book Dusheck's Coin Magic (by Steve Dusheck) for those of you unaware of it. Oddly I don't see this wonderful book mentioned much, and surprisingly few seem to be familiar with it. Must be a much coveted item. I'm sure many of you you cogniscenti own it, but I figured it would be worth mentioning HERE of all places.
Published by the American Magic Company in 1992, as No. 2 in the Dusheck Magic Series, this tome is full of incredible do-it-yourself coin gimmickery and is filled with inventive brilliance. A number of the effects have been marketed and will be familiar to all (early version of Lethal Tnder etc) After reading this book you too will share my feelings that with a handful of coins and tube of Crazy Glue you can rule the world (or at least create your own super-cheap great magic.) It has the charming feeling of vintage Popular Mechanics mags, those dad and lad build-at-home projects of the past. Most importantly, the book triggered my imagination, opening up a vista of new ways I will think about "gimmicks." The book, like Bobo and all the best works, will encourage you to create your own magic. Those seeking Sleight-Of-Hand info will find it a bit sparse here (Save for The Dusheck Toss) for tis chiefly a work of diabolical inventive genius. There is also a fascinating 13 page Q and A r.e. Coin magic, methods and Coin Workers in the back. Coinfidentially Yours, Charles S |

I'd like to second Charles' excellent observations on this and other overlooked creations by Mr. Dusheck. If you happen to have a copy, it might be interesting to review the effect called "Slippery Sam." If you don't have it, just ignore me. Charles, what will happen to magic if they start studying Bobo and Dusheck?

Often you can find the Dusheck books at a very low price i.e. under $10 for a small hardback book.

I am glad you posted this. I just picked up a copy of this off of ebay, and thought I would check the Café for reviews.
I will add my own thoughts when I receive this.
