Hello, all.
I'm from the frozen north (-10 tonight) and yes, I can see Canada from my house. What I do these days is mostly busking at Farmers' Markets. I'm honored to be among you -- some names I've known and respected forever -- and intend to be the best listener in the room. -- Jim |

Welcome Jim! You look like a nice guy.
It's an honor to have you. That's some cold lands there... XD You'll surely find performers here to share experience and ideas. People here are really much more helpful than you imagine, you'll see. And I'm sure we will learn with you too. Cheers! Max Hazy

Aye laddie!
With a name like MacDonald, ye must be a wearer of tha kilt! I am HAPPY to know that we've finally got a good listener! (I'm a fairly good talker.) When you busk aT the farmers' markets, do they toss turnips, carrots and potatoes in your hat? (hee hee) I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. (a hundred miles north of Green Bay, Wisconsin) I can drive 350 miles SOUTH, and cross the bridge to CANADA!!! We are having a heat wave! (only -8 tonight!) My friends, Jay Marshall and Pat Page were Scots, but, I'm just a Swede/Norwegian. Welcome to our motley crew. Oh! welcome to your friend, Max, too. --He's not playing with a full deck! (Look at his avatar!) O

Welcome Jim_Macdonald,
How do you do Magic in Mittens? Busking as a Farmers Market sound like a pleasant gig. What do they sell there, snow peas and iceberg lettuce? -Mary Mowder |

Welcome Jim
From another New Hampshirite...Southern. It was a balmy +1 this a.m. Busking in the Great North Woods sounds like a good time! Enjoy your stay here in The Café. Mark

Farmers' markets is a lot of fun (except, sorta, when parents think I'm an unpaid babysitter while they go shopping....)
How to do magic in mittens? Slide your thumb out of the thumb-part and you can do some amazing coin work. Only problem is, since the coin is inside the mitten too, no one can see it. What they sell there is ... lots of maple products. Honey. Corn. And hand-made mailbox covers (yes, that's a thing). Hey, Mark -- what part of southern NH? In my never-ending quest to get out, meet people, and get to know other magicians I've gotten with Granite State Magicians, in the Manchester area. |

I did not know that Dick Oslund lived in the U.P.!! I used to travel that area. Usually spent the night in Marquette, had pasties the next morning in Ishpeming and went on to see the ice sculptures in Houghton/Hancock. Cold...cold...cold!!!! But anyway......Welcome Jim!!
