I've never had that happen. I've been performing it off and on for about 20 years. I think they only way you might get in trouble and have them see something, is if they were seated higher than the top of the tube.

Re: Bad angles from the audience being too high. One simple solution is to drape a silk over the top of the tube, when you aren't putting the balls into the top of the tube.
BTW, I use a Pro Suitcase Table for my show (my Strat-O-Spheres would be performed on top of that), and I don't think I've ever been worried about someone looking down into the tube. It stands tall enough that I have to be standing right beside my table to see down into it, and I'm 6'5". - Donald

Just an opinion. In my opinion, covering the top of the tube, when you aren't in a performing situation with people looking down onto the performance area (like tiered seating, or above you on a different floor of a shopping centre), is drawing unnecessary attention to the tube. You will likely drive more people to suspect something is up with the tube. Leave it alone (no silk to cover it), and people will more likely not give any thought to it.
In other words, don't run unless you're being chased. - Donald

You have a point.I will think about it.I try to act like the hanky strengthens the magical moment. But its still a little awkward.

I save my old egg bags and use them to cover Stratospheres.
