This looks good... a few questions if anyone is able to answer...
1. Does this need to be the first trick you do with the deck or can the gimmick be added to the deck during a card routine? 2. If done as an opener, can the gimmick be reasonably ditched to continue with a card routine or would that not be ideal? 3. Is the gimmick sturdy, meaning will it hold up to nightly performances? If it breaks/wears out, is it possible to make a gimmick or is this something that you would need to re-purchase each time? 4. Can this reasonably be presented in a fairly crowded bar/restaurant? (meaning are angles workable with larger tables)... Thanks for any help in answering my questions... |

I don't think you could make one part of the gimmick. 3)You will have to be aware of angles, the opposite side that you are holding your deck in, people will have to be at about 10 or 2 o'clock. You would not be able to do this surrounded.

The noise comments have me a bit worried.
Just how noisy is this? |

I’m hoping someone here can help me out. I have had Hovercard Plus for a while but have always had issues with getting it to rise slowly rather than pop up off the deck. Does anyone have any tips for this. I know in the video Nick mentions that you have to work with it a bit when the gimmick is new. So far mine is still not smooth. Thanks for any assistance!

Keep working it manually and break it in even more. It will eventually work but may take a little time. Even after it is broken in, there is a little knack to get used to in order to get it to rise properly. At least that's how it was for me.

RNK, I’m going to send you a PM with a specific question. Don’t want to post here as it is about the gimmick.

Cool effect! A little angle sensitive but still a great effect!

I just got this effect home and I love it!
When I saw the video demonstration I was sold! In one of my favorite movies about magic The Illusionist from 2006 you see a young magician Eisenheim performs this effect where a selected card floats out of the deck and he grabs it directly in the air. I remember it as some of the most magical I have ever seen! this was of course achieved through special effects. That this can now be done in reality! Many thanks to Dan Harlan and others for creating such a beautiful illusion !! |
