No idea about this, but not sure if the issue is on my end or not.
Thanks!
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Do you see in place of an avatar?

It is as if the avatar photo has gone, and the words that had been below the avatar photo moved up right under the name. In other words, the (vertical) space that had been taken up by the photo is gone. Looking at it, someone new to the Café would think the forum wasn't designed to use an avatar photo.
Also, the emojis show as code, rather than seeing the emojis, themselves. Thanks!

Tried Chrome and IE, and have the same results. Other forums I belong to are not affected in a similar manner.

Ok, I found the issue.
I realized that with the latest update of Firefox, I'll get a 'warning' if I'm logging into a site that doesn't have a 'secured' login. So I started logging in using "https://" and bookmarked that, but didn't go right into the Café after that for some reason. When I came back to the Café later I didn't think too much about not seeing the avatars and didn't connect the 2. When I went to Chrome and IE, I copied the link from Firefox which had the https:// When I took out the https:// the avatar photos (and emojis) came back.

I have the same issue.
My latest firefox shows up a warning that the loging is insecured. the warning only goes away when I add https:// in front of the adrs., and that's where all the avtar images vanish and also smilies show HTML codes. |

I am having the same issue too. Maybe I am dense, but I haven't been able to discern a suggested fix in this thread. Is there one?

It's mostly a browser setting issue. Firefox is the main culprit. I'll have to go through and change everything though since most people don't bother looking at browser settings and just go with whatever is the default.
Somebody kick me off the computer, will ya?

Got the answer!
If it’s the secure site, HTTPS, avatars don’t work. Switch back to HTTP and everything is fine. But insecure, I guess? Voila!

At the moment I have a redirect from https to http so anyone using https will be moved to http so all the images show up. That's until I can revise the code so https no longer does that.

While you're under the hood, I've been stuck at 350 posts for the last several posts. For instance on this page, twice.
Not a big deal, but I think they're out to get me!

You posted on Sept 5 which brought you to 350 posts. The next postings were on Dec 19. One in the tech forum and one in the Let's make deal forum. On Dec 20, you posted again in the tech forum. Post counts have been questioned many times and if you read this sticky topic in the tech forum, you'll see that some forums do not count toward your post count. Let's make a deal and the tech forums are a few of those areas. You're not stuck, just not posting in forums that count.
