I'm postng for recommendations from you guys, the pros, for who you personally have done business wth as far as children's entertainer's costumes. My google search is not yeilding the best results. I have the top part of my costume, but as far as the pants, I found a seamstress , but my problem is that she is dragging her feet, and just too slow to suit me (no pun intended).
I figured you guys would know who or where to go to get it done. All recommendations are appreciated.

I don't know what you are looking for but check out the "The Clothes We Wear" forum down below.
There are several links to Colorful vests, Jacket and T Shirts as well as Western, Steampunk and Shiny/Glittery disco looks. Be sure and check if they are Dry Clean Only. Best of luck! -Mary Mowder |

Mary has said it very well.
Keep it SIMPLE, and, make it FUN! If you have an amateur theater group in your city, they often have a costumer (not cUstomer!) who designs, and makes costumes.

What a fabulous idea! I've participated in local theatre productions, but it didn't occur to me to ask! Must have been a blind spot for me.

Yeah! When I was in high school (Egad! That was the 1940s!!!) I belonged to the "Escanaba Civic Theater". I mostly worked on the stage crew, building scenery, but, occasionally was drafted to do a "walk on".
Years later, I was off the road for a couple weeks, and, the group, now called "Bay de Noc Players" was doing the 1776 play. They were doing it in my old high school auditorium. I went. All the characters were in "177* wardrobe". One of the characters had colonial "breeches" that looked vaguely familiar. All during the play, I was staring at the guy's pants! THEN, my brains "shifted gear" (!) and, I realized that his pants had been made from a piece of the old "in one" traveler!!! When I saw your post, my ancient brain "did it to me" again. Often amateur theater groups operate on a tight budget. Costume rental can be expensive. I hope you can find someone local!

Amazing you should mention 1776. I just did it last year! Actually, this was the second time I acted in this production. I absolutely love this musical. I played Ceasar Rodney from Delaware. Got to do the big dramatic scene of almost dying on stage. And I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Hope life is treating you good, Dick!

Yup! I'm "up and about" every day! I just get tired sooner than I did, a few years ago.
When you're 18, you can dance all night, and, then, work all day, but, "them days is gone forever"! (hee hee)

Cut back on work; keep on dancing.
And if the doctor tells you that you have to cut back on wine, women and song, quit singing. |

Or get a new doctor.
