I do a slop shuffle triumph with multiple selected cards (4 or 5) or 4 of a kind. Using multiple cards makes the slop shuffle look really authentic.

I've been using John Luka's "Licked At Last." It's a very fun routine to perform. It is a mix between Triumph and the Inversion plot.I love Triumph routines in which I can genuinely "sell" the shuffling of face up into face down cards, As far as method, the routine only requires one Straddle Faro and the interlace need not be perfect. It is completely in the hands so it is perfect for strolling work.
I am a big fan of John Luka's work. It is definitely created with the performing magician in mind! Thanks Mr. Luka!!! |

I perform several versions, in the hands I love John Bannon's Last Man Standing...if I can have a complex set up or do a deck switch, I do his Play it Straight. Many great versions exist, (the one somebody posted done by Derek on Spanish TV was killer.) The deck changes color, goes back in new deck order, the selection changes color.....MOST of these are unnecessary for laymen. In my experience, if you have a table....it's hard to beat 1 Zarrow, Up the Ladder cut, Daryl's display and the Vernon method of righting the deck. There ARE exceptions, but I honestly think that Triumph is one of those tricks that has been killed by "improvements."

I tend to agree with 'pepka' when he wrote:

John, is there any performance video of anyone or even yourself performing this?

RoadRunnerCull for Caligula Triumph.
I do it all the time but lots of practice. I have a few decks of cards next to my chair where I watch TV.
