Dear Magicians,I am looking for the source of the following trick that I saw performed some time back.Magicians bring out 2 deck of different color decks and put 10 blue cards in one wine glass and let 2 spectators select 2 cards from a pile of the red backed cards. Then he put those 10 red cards including signed two inside the other glass and make the 2 signed cards transfer from the red backed pile to the blue backed pile.I might be wrong in a few places but this is the basic effect. Can anyone please tell me the source.Thank you.

It sounds similar to this Paul Daniels effect. Is this kind of what you were referring to?

Helder Guimarães has a cool cards across using different colored packets in wine glasses. That may be what you're looking for.

I think it is the Helder Guimaraes trick, which is full of lovely touches, including the broadest, cheekiest bit of choreography I have read in the last 12 months - brilliant.

Just a third voice - definitely Helder's trick, which is absolutely genius. You can find it in his book Reflections in full detail, and I recall a video of it somewhere...

It is called "Cards, Signatures, and Glasses" in his book, Reflections, on page 9 (preceded by an analysis of cards across plots as the first section of the book). I believe the performance video was an easter egg on the Red Mirror DVD put out by D&D.

I researched cards across for several months. I was keen to have selected cards from a blue back set travel to a red set. Helders solution is so good I almost stopped there and adopted his routine. Bear in mind it is a parlour / stand up presentation, not informal walkabout. The joy of it is that it appears utterly clean.
