Bbguy, I'm having success by doing the injog and kick all in one motion... there might be too much movement going on to make it performance viable though.
Keep grinding at it! Would love to hear how your progression is going!

Hey, bbguy. With this being out a few years, I imagine most people have it by now or have given up... you and I might be the only people currently grinding it.
I don't know if this will help you because everyone has different things that work for them, but I've found a counter intuitive practice technique is what got me over the hump. Practice S L O W L Y I can't think of another control where I benefited by learning off speed... but after practicing the simultaneous kick and push at half speed, it became second nature to do it full speed. I also solved the last stage. Instead of going one card from the top,I go second from the top, this lets you kick the top card, then have the next card as cover, and you can do the push on the previous rise card as slow as you want well after the kick was done... you just need to make sure to kick a little further than the previous rise card. Not sure if that's stuff that only works for me or if others might benefit. I keep learning all of this knacky stuff before even getting my fundamentals 😂 I swear I'm going to work through card college after this. Merry Christmas and good luck!

Matty, thank you for the encouragement and further insights. Your last bit regarding the last kick and extra cover is especially helpful! 🙏🏽
Also, it's funny that you mention Card College. I came back to magic about a year ago after being out of performance for more than a decade, and I decided it would be prudent to go back to basics by working through CC. I've been working steadily through them (currently about to wrap vol 2) while picking up one fun/knacky item at a time to play with along the way to keep up the novelty factor for me. Hope your practice is coming along nicely, and Happy New Year to you, Brother! 🍻 |

How are you guys getting along with the move, Matty or bbguy??
For me, Xavior's Rise is one of the best investments I've made in a while. Every once in a while you see a move that makes you fall in love with sleight of hand and card magic all over again, this was it for me. Been grinding it for a couple months now and getting close(ish) to performance level, but more than anything, it's just a labor of love. I'm sure there are a lot more practical and productive uses of my time (and things that cause fewer hand cramps!), but once I saw this trailer I just I had to learn it. |
