Hello community,
being interested in gambling routines and general card magic I thought it would be very useful to learn one or two good deck switches. That's why I ask for some sources where I could learn mechanics or gimmicks which allow me to switch the deck. Thank you in advance. |

But I always forget about it. Sorry. The question just popped into my head and I wanted to get it out.

You should check out Roberto Giobbi's The Art of Switching Decks for a treasure trove of switches for all situations.

I'm also interested in gambling scenario cold deck moves. I heard that The art of switching decks only talks about deck switches for magic uses. Are there any sources that describe for example the cooler move in The Sting?

Steve Forte material is very interesting. Gambling Protection Series, and the books: Poker Protection and the world of Poker, or Casino Game Protection. Check Richard Turner too.

Agreed. But it's quite difficult to learn from GPS . I played frame by frame to figure out some of the moves.

SimonCard,
The cooler from The Sting is described in a very rare gambling book called Cheating Cheaters by Kay Green. In fact, the book predates the film by over 20 years. I know of only a handful of copies in existence. The Giobbi book is your best best - then adapt those switches to gambling routines. Jason

Thanks Jason for the information. I did a quick search on google and the only related entry shows a copy sold for over 900 dollars!!. I guess I will have to go with the art of deck switching.

In Peter Duffie's Move Mastery Volume 2, he has a couple of very nice deck switches that could be used at the card table or the magic table. Here is a demo. It's quick but starts at 2:17.
