Hello, it's been a while since I've done any magic but Penn and Tellers Fool Us show has gotten me to go find the old box of tricks and gimmicks.
I found my "Vanished and Gone" trick and instantly remembered why I stopped presenting it... duplicate cards. When going through the deck I've had a few people say, "Hey, there's two of the same cards in there!" How do you prevent this from happening? |

If you go through the Royal Road and Study it, you will learn proper techniques for card handling, great effects, and have a foundation on which to grow you card skills. This isn't a quick and easy result as perhaps you thought you would get, but anything worth learning takes time. |

The quick solution would be to not show people the face of the cards at any time.

Welcome to the Café, HawkMan! Go here and look around a bit.
http://www.penguinmagic.com/ Cards are a VERY small part of Magic. For a few bucks and a couple hours practice, there are some GEMS in there! Doug |

I'm slowly working on using my Fearsons thread bullet, I'm probably going to have to buy some colored master wax. |

The trick has a flaw that is hard to correct if you want to use that gimmick deck.
You can do something similar with regular deck and sleight. For example, He names a card. You show face up "i have all the cards here, exept one". Cull the card to bottom, gamb cop it, put the card to your back pocket while you hand out the deck with other hand, saying "take the deck, deal all the cards and look yours" and done. The bonus is that you can actually produce their thought of card from anywhere after. If you have wallet in your back pocket you can slide it in and reveal from wallet If you have memdeck you can do estimation cut and gamb cop it |
