Quite clever setup indeed (got a PM), with pros and cons.
At least one half tough can be shuffled.
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death my right to say "scr*w you" if you persist. [Voltaire ]

Ok. Easiest way, especially without shuffling at the beginning, is to use a deck that normally has a 9D on the bottom. You either know what I’m talking about at this point or you don’t. But he didn’t use that particular deck, I think use a different deck. But the same principle. So he could have shuffled the two packets.
I actually enjoyed the presentation quite a bit. Funny enough. But the method is so simple. And all the talking covers it. So why didn’t he shuffle? Did he use a different method ? He could also have peeked and use a k*y card. I believe him when he says it wasn’t a waterfall !@#$e. Because those two cards would be the last two I would !@#$e. |

I just stumbled on this old thread and noticed something rather amusing (to me anyway!)

On Aug 12, 2017, Claudio wrote: After I read Claudio's comment above, I thought Siegfried couldn't use that well-known "simple manoeuvre" because it would be way too obvious to experienced magicians like P&T. But then I watched the video again, and it looks like he does make exactly that manoeuvre!!! But actually I suspect he was just gesticulating as he talked, and didn't even realise what he had done. Or maybe it was a deliberate red herring? |

I just watched this again, and I do like what Siegried did with Tamariz's trick. I like it when he spreads one of the packets face up, seeming to negate Juan's original method. (But of course the packets could and should have been shuffled first).
I also like the fact that he doesn't need to look through the second packet at all. BUT he did. He told Teller it was a Heart - but then he picked up the packet and looked through it to remove Teller's card (8H). He could just as easily have asked Teller to remove the card, then told him what it was. I think this would have been more powerful. |

I have been doing the Tamariz NBNS for awhile now and love the reactions, not just every time you say “yeeees” in a silly voice, but also after sniffing the cards!!
When I watched the Siegfried Tieber version, I eventually took a screenshot of his spread at the start and could easily pick out a “pattern” that Tamariz would be very familiar with!! I am intrigued about the method used, but don’t want to overstep with what I have observed to date. Is there a thread elsewhere that discusses method, or would someone be open to a PM chat about this is set up and what options that presents for method ?
