Okay, "greatness" is an overstatement, but I wanted the alliteration.
I'm in the South East of the UK (near London but not London) and I've been dabbling for a year or so. I still don't know what I like and don't like, or what (if anything) I have the knack for. But I want to learn and I want to get better! I'm looking forward to chatting with you all and reading what you have to say. |

Welcome smike,
What got you into Magic? That is probably a good indicator of where some of your interest lies. When you imagine yourself performing, what is it like? If your friends where Directors, what parts do you think they would cast you in? That isn't always who you are but it can be an indication of what character you'd find easily. It never hurts to start with Close-Up because it is easy to practice (I mean you don't have to rent a stage) and the props are easy to carry. Focus is your friend. Spend some time really trying to get proficient at a trick and before moving on. Keep a journal or some video of your progress. It can be informative. Check out "New to Magic". Have fun! -Mary Mowder |
