Hi Harry, StgGrey is in Austin, they are about 150 miles from the major effects and I believe had relatively mild weather during the hurricane. I live in an outer suburb of Houston and the situation on the ground is everybit as bad as depicted in the news. Even worse in Beaumont and Port Aurthur. When you see whitecaps on the major interstate highway you know your in trouble. The weather has died down but the water remains. Many neighborhoods still under water.

Yes, sorry I missed that post earlier - Austin for the most part had only mild rain. There were a few isolated incidents of flooding in some parts, and my parents' house saw some heavy wind that destroyed some of their backyard furniture and potted plants, but that was it. Houston was definitely hit hardest, and I know many in Austin who are gearing up to assist with relief efforts, mucking, etc. as needing in the surrounding areas and in Houston. Sorry to hear about the devastation around your area, mtgoldstein! I hope you are doing alright, and I know much needed assistance is on its way!

I have a few orders for my new book from people in parts of Texas that I am not familiar with. For example, can you tell me if books (or any mail) would be delivered in a week or so from now to Highland Village, TX or to Plano, TX. I also have a few orders from people in Houston - don't know what to do about those - I doubt if they'll be having postal delivery for a while. Any thoughts?

Highland Village and Plano are northern parts of Dallas-Ft. Worth area, so those should be fine. As for Houston, I'm not really sure how to handle that. I would assume if they are mailed, the USPS would just hold the packages at the distribution centers until normal mail services resume, and there would be a long delay as they get through all the accumulated mail delivery. Only other option I suppose would be to individually contact the people who made those orders to see if they would like it redirected to a different temporary address?

Mail is getting back to normal in 3/4 of the city. If you held off any mailing for 1-2 weeks to Houston, Katy, Sugarland, Woodlands, Conroe, Cypress, Galveston, League City, Kemah you should be good. Perhaps I will look up the zip codes and send a list. I would hold anything from Beaumont, Port Arthur, Lake Charles,Louisana unti further notice. Some parts may not recover for months

The only other Texas city I have orders from is Katy. Thanks for your advice - I'll just hold off a while for Houston and katy.
Thanks for your help and advice - even though helping me out - which I'd be glad to do were the situations reversed. I thought that was the point - magicians helping magicians - no matter where they needed help. So sorry that we're upsetting Mr. Cavendish. So what would you like to talk about, Tim? Diagonal palm shifts, Panoramic Shift, my Ultra Move/Spread Control/HaLo Cut/Universal Reversal? Be glad to help.
