New download from The Other Brothers
http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/8926 Ad copy: A SIGNED playing card your spectator is HOLDING, turns into a dollar... IN THEIR HANDS. Where's the card? In your wallet, where the dollar SHOULD be. The Other Brothers have created the most deceptive way to switch a card and a dollar. This video is PACKED with "aha" moments. From how you make their SIGNED card turn into a dollar, to how you get that same card into your wallet (you're gonna love that), to the brilliant switch. |

Nice in the hands transpo! It's extremely well taught, and the actions are pretty well motivated. I think some better uses will be forthcoming as people get this and play with it, a point even the Other Brothers make in the download.
Because I know some of you are phobic about it... there is some arts and crafts involved. A great value for $10 |

One question - is the dollar bill examinable? can the spectator unfold it themselves?

The dollar bill is not examinable at all.... this is more then a trick. This gimmick is a great switch device that can be used in different circumstances. Worthed the price.

It's a. Very nice effect. Yes some arts and crafts involved to do it as performed. There are extra ideas at the end that don't involve the dollar bill. Those are just as strong if not stronger. Certainly gets the mind going on other potential uses.

Bought it and this it is well worth $10. Have another idea for this "routine" though.

I think the great thing about 'Contra' are the multiple uses for the gimmick.
Nice job, Brothers... |

There's not much to say about Contra...
But, if you like what you see in the trailer, you should definitely purchase it. The two gimmicks are not difficult to make and they will last a pretty long time. The switching utility is my favorite of the two gimmicks. It enables the magician to be in control of a folded card that the spectator thinks they have control over. This opens up so many possibilities... Highly recommended!! - Ari |

This is a great trick and its very well taught. Making the gimmick can take some time but it seems that the gimmick will last a while.
One thing I would like to point out is that this is not an entirely new switch as some have been suggesting. Guy Hollingworth did almost the same exact same switch with a full unfolded card in an EMC lecture. Also, you probably even already do this switch without the holdout (the holdout is still a very valuable idea). They claim that the wallet load can be done walk around without a jacket. To me that seems like a terrible idea. You will look like an idiot in the position you have to be for the wallet load unless you're wearing a jacket. I am a fair bit nervous about the fact that you will have a gimmicked and totally not inspectable bill in the spectators hand that you have to grab out of their hand the second that they open their hand and see that their card has changed into a bill. You can avoid this by doing the change in your hand but that diminishes the strength of the trick considerably. You should decide whether you consider this a problem before you purchase Contra. As with some of their other tricks they give you several other things you can do with these ideas. These ideas are not ready to perform, or even close to it, and you may question if they have any merit at all, but with some thought and workshopping there's a good chance that you will be able to turn it into something usable. I really appreciate their doing that and I wish more creators would do the same. |

Hello there !
if you like contra and the switch … I suggest you to look in Five Times Five (Japan Edition) by Richard Kaufman a similar switch is thought in there and a couples of interesting ideas. Phil |
