Can somebody help identify a trick similar to Abbotts Hole-In-One ? It is a wooden tray with side rails only. But instead of the Hole-In-Ones centrally located round 'trap door' (surrounded by 6 small round recesses), there are two square trap doors, with mechanisms underneath the tray. There are are also 2 small square cylinders designed to fit over, and hide the action of, the two square trap doors. Help ? What is this supposed to do ?

It sounds like Abbott's version of Harbin's IMAGINO. The effect was along the lines of the performer showing both boxes empty, assembling/opening each, setting them separately on the tray and then producing a silk handkerchief out of one.
The silk was then dropped back into the original box and magically appeared in the other previously shown empty box and the first box now shown empty. The silk handkerchief may be marked. The Harbin routine may be better than that (hopefully!), but this will give you the basic handling. Julie |

Abbott's did make this and sell it for many years. Just checked the instructions are not offered on their website.

Occasionally, the Abbott's Imagino is hard to find in good working condition, but sometimes seen on magic auction sites.
