There used to be a guy here that ran 3 card Monte scams for real. He had a crew that he toured with. He died from an asthma attack a few years ago. I have some correspondence from him but can’t find it or remember the name.
While I am at it is there a crew working the red line in Chicago still? |

Andrew Sylvester the eye-tester Jones, the well-known three-card Monte dealer in the Bronx, is one who knows, but I can’t recall anybody from here that ever did.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

I'm not sure all the facts are correct but this seems to me to be a reference to Gambling Sam and/or Brian AKA "topandball" who worked on the road with him. I don't remember if Sam ever posted on this forum, but T&B did.

Marlin1984 is (of course!) correct about "topandball", whose posts are incredibly worthwhile to go back and read. He didn't post a lot, but answered some pretty detailed questions about his namesake hustle.
Sam never posted here, and thank goodness for the guy with the video camera who filmed Sam working, and thank goodness for Whit Hayden for eventually putting that video of Sam on a DVD in order to prevent it from disappearing for good. But to the OP - topandball and Gambling Sam were pea and shell guys, not really monte guys - at least to my knowledge.

Thanks guys, that's what I was looking for. I had forgot it was a pea game.
