Hi there,
Do you know if the Doc’s routine is somewhere in print ? It is an effect in which he is cutting packets in decreasing numbers up to 1.
Thanks

I believe Darwin Ortiz uses this demonstration as a practice drill for the pinky count.

Yes, I was thinking of a pinky count method but as the method is the trick, it would not be very convincing. The cutting process must be instantaneous. So I would keep that for a drill.
I would be very interested too in knowing where the Swain’s trick can be found.

Miracles - The Magic of James Swain Volume 1

DVD #1 - The Gambling Act
This act was the cornerstone of my performances for five years, and has fooled the best in the business. Learn this act, and audiences will believe you’re the best card mechanic in the world!
Gambling Act Routines:
Opening Flourishes
Four Ace Revelation
Aces to Royal Flush
Dealing Demonstration
(with the best pseudo center deal ever)
Playing Heavy (a mind-blower)
Poker Demonstration
Steering
Weighing the Cards
Tells Part I
Tells Part II
Bonus Routine: Cheating at Texas Hold ’Em

The nice part about Swains method is that while it achieves the same effect as all the other alternatives, it doesn't use the pinky count and will give you another tool for your card magic toolbox. Playing heavy is another effect that will go very well with this effect and you will use for real people.

I have not this DVD. I can’t find it in the 21 Century card magic book, neither Miracles with cards. I have not don’t blink under my hand now but I don’t remember any routine like this in it.

The original routine does not use the pinky count.
