Okay, so it's been 10 months since first learned it. I mastered it within 5 months of hard work (by "mastered" I mean do it in a way that is identical to how Eric does it). To me this is probably one of the greatest coin moves ever created, and most likely underrated and underused, due to the sheer difficulty of it.
Who here regularly uses this move, and what has been your experience? I've since replaced my regular retention with this move, and it has cleaned up a lot of my routines and made moves which I thought were already perfect, look even more perfect. |

I work hard to master this coin move.
Here’s a video with multiple way to do it in a routine. The first one with the sharpie is very deceptive!😉 https://instagram.com/p/BWtDq-XFv-Q/ How do you incorporate this move in your magic?! |

I've been practicing for over a year now and just can't get it without moving my receiving fingers which just destroys the illusion.

Ha - I was just going to post that Eric has a production version that is identical to the vanish out on his IG account. I cannot imagine the production isn’t accomplished from something sticky on his thumb. Because the fingers are stationary, the thumb has to get over to the edge to even attempt a reverse of the action. I will absolutely love to be wrong and will fully acknowledge being wrong. I just don’t see it is technically possible to get it that clean. Eric is also rather quiet in the comments when people are asking about the production.
I think Zee’s Blow Vanish video is more instructional than the Coin video. But, that doesn’t mean Eric’s material isn’t worthwhile. I just found Zee to be a bit more comprehensive in his analysis of what it takes to get it done. I can’t mention Zee and Eric without recognizing Takuma Ukawa as the first to popularize the method. My efforts have it good enough to mess with my kids, but it isn’t on par with what I know it can be. I have been fiddling with it for about a month or so but no real dedicated practice. https://instagram.com/p/BfCwgRThwWl/ |

Hi,
I made this my first move to learn ( along with coinroll and musclepass), when I decided to play with coins about a year ago. It took me more than 5 month to look decent.. |

At least this is what I see when I watch Eric do it in slow mo. The ring and pinky should be pretty stationary. |

That way receiving fingers never really had to move. after about a day of that, and finger movement was close to gone. The biggest challenge I am facing right now, is the bloodvein in my arm. it kind of pops out visibly which of course is only seen when sleeves is up...but still annoying. |

Wow, thanks a lot for that tip Melkon! Definitely need to try that out!

The good idea in the link I share,is the ability to do the move with the sharpie in the hand that hold the coin! Don’t think it’s original to me but a good idea to remove the thought that the coin end in finger palm. |

I've watched Eric Chien's as well as Zee 's video and have practiced for over 6 months , but I still can't get it down...
How to drag the coin directly into FP without extending the fingers to catch it???? I keep practicing it for a week but without moving the fingers , the coin cannot be caught properly. I subconsciously extend and contract the fingers quickly so as to catch the coin into the proper FP position. |

@Asaka - After purchasing both videos I was having a similar issue. I have only been at it for about a month and I am still far from where I want to be with it but a couple things I found that helps when I practice is having another coin already in FP really helped me keep my middle and ring finger from moving. I also found applying more pressure with the thumb allows more of a snapping motion than a drawing motion to get the coin back.
Hope this helps. |

The index finger will move the most to get out of the way The middle finger will move ever so slightly, almost in reaction to catching the coin. The ring and pinky finger should not move. You will see the above if you watch it in slow motion. |

Looks like now would be a good time for me to learn this move. Although I know it’s very difficult to master.
