While researching, I ran across this poster of Eldora in the Library of Congress: https://www.loc.gov/item/2014635886/
I've found a little information about him--that he performed as part of a vaudeville bill in Seattle in 1905, and also in Spokane in 1908 at the Pantages (Ching Ling Foo was on the bill with him). I'd love to hear anything that might be known about his act or background. |

From his obituary in Billboard Magazine, April 28, 1945:
GOODMAN, August (Eldora), 77 At one time billed as “the world’s greatest heavyweight juggler,” in Hamden, Conn. He appeared in vaudeville and with the circuses until his retirement in 1923. He started as a tight-rope walker and juggler with a circus at 17, and became a headline performer with Barnum & Bailey. He had three daughters. |
