The Magic Nook has a few puppet magic routines:
"Fang" from The Wizards' Journal #2; "Silent Partner - Rudy Reindeer" from WizJ #15; "Mind Reading Puppets" from WizJ #18; "Vanishing Hand Puppet House" from WizJ #19; "Fido Fiki - The Busking Dog" from WizJ #27; "Poppets" from WizJ #33; "Itsy-Bitsy Babies" from WizJ #36; "Wonder Dog" from Qua-Fiki's Supero Hero Magic Book.

Try "Puppeteers of Amerca" they may have some ideas. When I first started out, in the 40's, I did a routine where 1 puppet said to another about ?? then 2nd to 3rd to 4th - 5th -(as long as you want)- at the finish the 'story' was comletely different, from the 1st. Lesson!! gossep!!

What kind of routine do you want? As Dick says, a library is the best first stop. While there, look for the Clown Act Omnibus. Many of the two person acts are easily adapted to a puppet. Colin Dymond had a dvd out a few years ago that got great reviews.
My favorite magic act with a puppet is Bill Abbott’s Chico routine. There is a book called Realm Of the Rabbit, which is about using a rabbit in a hat puppet setup. Lots of good stuff there. Samuel Patrick Smith had a rabbit puppet routine on one of his DVDs. Terry Herbert has a puppet portion in his birthday show. That should get you started. Patrick |
