Hi,
I looked through my sleight books (limited library here) looking for a way to do said sleight. Couldn't easily find one. It is for an assembly routine. What I want to do is spread three cards off the top of deck and apparently add them backs out to a card sitting in a glass. Instead I'm just adding two. I can think of a way to do it sort of easily but it looks dodgy to me. I won't reveal how I'm thinking about doing it unless you ask and it is deemed okay for me "to spill (my) beans"! If someone can point me to a source for a really good way to do it I would be appreciative. Just an amateur here. a Pro's pointer to a book would be great ! Thanks. |

You could spread count three and square, just take two instead.
You could do a two as three count off the deck. You could use the count back move Hamman uses in his devilish miracle variation. You could use a biddle type steal. You could use a secret subtraction. You could use a cop or a palm. You could use the Rub a Dub vanish. You could deal two, the third is stolen back via Green’s Snap Deal. Many ways to go about it. G’luck. |

Darwin Ortiz's Spread Steal described in Cardshark and Scams & Fantasies with Cards is easy and deceptive.

Check out Jon Armstrong's Snap Deal technique, he uses it in Hofz Glassses on his DVD set. Not to be confused with Lennart Green's Snap Deal as a previous poster already mentioned.
Mr. Armstrong's technique (not sure if he originated it, probably something similar had been done before) is very deceptive if counting more cards. 2 as 3 may be more difficult, but I think it can still work. Yehuda |
