The "Secret" of Magick - the Hermetic Axiom "as Above, so Below" - Taliesin McKnight
The Hermetic axiom "as Above, so Below" is often thrown around in the esoteric community. It refers to the inter-connectedness between the microcosm and macrocosm. This phrase comes from the Emerald Tablet ascribed to Hermes Trismegistus.

fighting it. Instead, create a new model that makes the old one obsolete." -- R. Buckminster Fuller |

At first, I thought your post concerned Aleister Crowley. Because I read about Malcolm Dent who bought Crowley's Boleskin House and got bedeviled by terrifying ghostly hauntings. Apparently it was not Aleister Crowley's ghost but somebody else's ghost.

Cool video. Thanks for sharing. As an esotericist and mystic, my head is usually buried in the books. It's nice to hear things parsed by someone in "person". Is this an area of interest (for lack of a better phrase) for you as well?

The k puts it to Crowley, see the first few pages of MagicK Without Tears for some about what he meant by adding the K. Not sure the Emerald Tablet discussion requires Crowley for context.
There's some history here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerald_Tablet If you'd like a book - https://www.amazon.com/Emerald-Tablet-Al......40195718 For comicbook readers - try Promethea by Alan Moore issue 18 intentionality/narrative

Interesting that Aleister Crowley is included on the cover of The Beatles Sergeant Pepper album. Around that time the book The Concise History of Witchcraft, by Richard Cavendish was quite popular, so John Lennon must have heard about it.

It should be further clarified that his system is different from the hermeticism of the Golden Dawn. In fact, the members of the Golden Dawn had a hostile adversarial relationship with Crowley. |

It is different from everything. that's my point. Crowley made many claims of following certain things and being a member of certain organizations but for the most part was doing his own thing.

This couldn't be a more wrong interpretation of the Hermetic doctrine. You have to read the whole thing and understand it in total. As above, so below ...... to accomplish the miracle of the One thing. It has to do with a more complex view of universal actions and laws and how you achieve harmony thru working with them. His views on astrology and freemason symbols are also stupid. The idea that you create your reality comes from lots of sources, not the HD. Youtube videos are almost always BS.
The Hermetic Doctrine is a vastly more complex concept. See Lao Tzu for similar concepts. |
