I was using a small lighter for an effect. I had it palmed when I noticed that the spectator had a larger but, exactaly same lighter. Of course I did a shrinking thing with it and they flipped out. Then she pick the force card that I had rolled up in a pen right in front of her.

I was performing a coins across routine at a bar one night, having the spec select 1 of 4 coins and put 3 in their hand and keep one in mine... and cause the coin in my hand to vanish and join the other three...
simple routine.. Well, I was asked immediately to do it again.. and we all know what the first thing the spec will do on the second go-around is to look into their hand and see if there are really 3 coins there... But I was drinking and she was cute so I did it for her... but before I started, I told her "DO NOT OPEN YOUR HAND!!"...I knew she would, so when I placed the 3 coins in her hand, I REALLY only placed 3 coins in her hand... She immediately opened her hand to see if there were only 3 there *L* and to her suprise there was!.. I scolded her for opening her hand, picked the 3 coins up and showed them to her one at a time (acting like I was frustrated) then, again, I placed them into her hand..(adding the extra).. this time she did not open her hand, and her and the 7 or 8 others watching were completely blown away when she opened her hand at the end of the trick to reveal 4 coins.. LOVED IT!! c-ya Tom

I was doing a 4 card 4 coin matrix after doing a routine with the 4 queens.
Someone in the audience asked if I could do it with the kings. A few seconds before I had Curry Switched the Queens for you guessed it the 4 kings. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! Harris

Sorry, this isn't me, but a friend of mine was doing "Coins thru the Table" and getting a pretty good reaction from the lay audience. When the last coin had gone through, they were pretty impressed, and it was one of those moments where he could have crossed the line into "godhood" if he only had a killer ending.
He brought the last coin from beneath the table, delived his last line, and tossed the coin to the table top. The coin landed flat, and then bounced up on edge, where it stood, balanced. As they say, the crowd fell to its knees!

That reminds me... I had another event that
was unbelievable!! I was performing a simple coin through the table where you lap the coin as you pull it off of the table to pick it up.. you then tap the fingers on the top of the table like you are still holding it in that hand, at the same time you take the coin from your lap and tap the underside of the table in sync so the sound illusion helps convince the spec that you still have the coin in the hand above the table... Well *L* I did not know it, but the spec had put his hand under the table to see if he could feel the coin go through.. my hand was just above his near the bottom of the table tapping.. when you actually want them to think the coin has passed through, you slap your hand flat on top of the table and slap the coin flat underneath... well, I dropped the coin underneath during the slap, and it fell right into the specs hand.. who had no idea my other hand was down there...his eyes got SoO big I had to strain to keep from laughing and pretend that was how it was ment to be done.. I couldnt believe it! Talk about lucky

I was performing a platform show for a parent’s day at a small college. Part of the act called for me to vanish my assistant. It was going to be difficult because of the nature of the venue.
This was an open stage on a field, no backstage, no backdrops. It was really a flatbed trailer that had been set up in the middle of a playing field. A band started the day and another was to end the day. A full program of variety acts was scheduled throughout the afternoon. So I using a drape that was sewn to a Hula-hoop that I would lift and then drop with the assistant vanishing instantly. It’s a good bit (very deceptive small platform with the hoop and drape doing the covering necessary!). The effect is supposed to end with the drape being lifted again and the assistant reappearing with a costume change. BUT, there was an Ultimate Frisbee game going on across the field behind us. It was so far away that it did not distract the audience (much). My assistant was in place. I slowly lifted the drape, counted the necessary time needed to myself and let go of the hoop. The drape fell and a “Frisbee seemed suspended in air in the space that the assistant should have been, then it slowly drifted toward the front row of the audience. The Reaction was HUGE!! Of course what had actually happened is that a Frisbee had gotten away from the game and had hit the spot at exactly the time I dropped the drape! It only appeared to be hovering, it was really moving slowly forward. The illusion was perfect! I was surprised as much as the audience! I took the Frisbee back and put it on the stand and made the assistant reappear! Talk about luck!

Alright I confess I did a card trick one time
But that wasnt the worst part. I was doing card on ceiling in the fashion I do it i have this group around me watching the floor and I toss the deck up the card sticks its all good, the deck lands on the floorwhere it should, the card seemingly doesnt pop out of the box, thats they way I do the trick and I say oh it got stuck and I look up and everyone else does to to reveal their signed card. Now when I looked up the card was directly on the other side of a ceiling fan spinning at full speed. Inside was was freaking out, I played it like ah I do that all of the time, but people were screaming and freaking it was awsome .To this day I have know Idea how it went throught those blades and came back through without a sound. |
