There is a new site called http://www.magicbooks.be
It is a GREAT place to look around. 1) You'll find TONS of references (complete T.O.C. of a quasi-endless list of magic books) 2) Those T.O.C. are searchable. So, if you're looking for one specific routine which you forget the book you found it in, enter the routine's name in the search engine and, hopefully, you'll find all the place in which it appeared in the magic litterature. You're free to contribute to the initiative by completing the collection and adding some missing books. Anyway, give it a look, it worth it. Jonathan. |

That is a good site but I want to lend voice to a small magic web portal that is actually the source for many, and I mean many, of the table of contents that are listed on magicbooks at this time. Many of those contents are from Cameron Roat's site, The Magic Files. Visit his site here: themagicfiles.com
The Magic Files is about to post a huge update with many titles that have yet to appear on the internet. Im sure in a couple of weeks on ebay the contents to Ortiz's Strong Magic will appear! Also the site is host to the open genii index project, which will become an incedible resource for magicians in due time. Currently the site is undergoing a database overhaul and soon it will have a stunning search engine. I figure it will be the best information source for magic on the web. The push will continue to list all table of contents from relevant titles in a clean fashion for both books and periodicals. Many new biographies and bibliographies will appear, and with a clean look and powerful search engine I would hope that many of you would stop by Mr Roat's free site.

Thanks for the plug, LeConte.
LeConte is correct about an upcoming update. I hope to have it finished by tonight. At least 15 new books, the tables of contents of which have never appeared on the Internet, should go up. I'm also working on an advanced search engine that will make researching a breeze. Here's an example results listing. A search for "twist" would return the following: "Revolutionizing the Twist" (Jason Alford) Freebie, Jason Alford, 1999, p. 24 "Homing Twist" (Tomas Blomberg) Freebie 2, Jason Alford, 2000, p. 18 "Twist and Shout" (Aldo Colombini) Direct Hits, Aldo Colombini, 1996, p. 45 "Twist and Scram" (Aldo Colombini) Direct Hits, Aldo Colombini, 1996, p. 46 "Twisted Location" (Phil Goldstein) Scattershot, Phil Goldstein, 1977, p. 13 "We'll Twist - If You Insist" (Derek Dingle) The Complete Works of Derek Dingle, Richard Kaufman, 1982, p. 54 This is just an example; the search will, of course, find EVERY instance of "twist" in the database and return results similar to those above. LeConte and Cameron, I'm embarrased to say I'd not seen the site you mentioned before. I just went there and I am floored. Put simply, it's a great site. You guys have done a lot of hard work.

Any help at all with the site is welcome.

Thanks Johnathan!
Yes, Magicbooks.be received the permission of RICHARD KAUFMAN, STEPHEN MINCH and LOUIS FALANGA to use their published tables of contents. With the kind help & permission of Douglas Atkinson from Magicref.tripod.com as well as Cameron Roat from http://www.themagicfiles.com and to Christoph Wasshuber of http://www.lybrary.com we started http://www.magicbooks.be. The purpose is to have a great tool available for everyone. On magicbooks.be we can all intereact and give feedback concerning missing information. In less than a month we have more than 1100 entries ! Knowing that there are about 9000 books available it's not bad! So, whoever has a library at home and want to contribute is welcome to do so! Thanks all! Jacky ----------------- http://www.magicbooks.be If you want to contribute, don't hesitate ! If 20 people would upload only 1 ToC a day (takes about 3 minutes), we would have 140 books more per week for extra research... So...
