Are the gloves that Tony provides the ones that he uses in the stage to stage video. Because I saw a photo and they were like winter wool gloves. Does anyone know?

Hey Ben,

When I bought the effect, it came with very small wool gloves. I guess they sold wool ones. so they could fit different hand sizes.

Unfortunately I have pretty big hands and had to buy some new gloves.

You can get very good gloves at a very low price, so this shouldn't be a problem.

It's a great effect.

Thanks. Where did you get the gloves? Do they have a website?

I have good quality cotton dress gloves in adult sizes for $5 a pair plus shipping. I used to make gloves to bouquet but no longer do so.

You can also check tux shops. But stay away from Polyster gloves as they are too slippery.

I also made up a a red-and-white streamer for a couple of guys to use instead of the B&W streamer.

Hi,

Most supermarkets sell cotton inner gloves for use with the marigold type gloves. You know, the one for general household chores.

They are so cheap that I do not even bother to wash them when dirty - just get a new pair.

Just a query, guys!

Who uses Gloves in their shows any more?

Probaly look OK if you wear a full tux. Do you do this?

Just curious!

Hey ABM ,

Gloves fit into the new age of magic as they did in the past.

If you cut the fingers of the gloves they can look very cool. Just think about Vito Lupo.

If you look at some hip-hop or other music videos (I personally don't like hip-hop), you will see a lot of guys wearing gloves. Today it's sort of a trend.

To me gloves look more "fresh" than a regular/classic tux.

Think about it.

I made my own gloves to streamer with a pair of white gloves I got form a local magic shop. Then I went to an arts and craft store and got a 12 foot streamer in white, sew it to the gloves and it looks great! I use to gloves to streamers in my opening act to produce a two doves. I think that gloves give the magician a more clean cut.

I too made my own instead of buying the trick itself. It works great and looks great. I'm glad I didn't have to spend $35. Smile

I try to make a lot of my own effects if I know how they work, because sometimes it's whole lot cheaper, plus you can add your own style and adapt it to your way of working the effect.

I think he uses the wool gloves because they stretch very well, but when they come off they also take up less space as they shrink fast. This makes for less of a ball you have to conceal before the streamer shoots out.

You can substitute any gloves that work best for you. Just experiment a little bit and see what works.

The stretching is a good point, but I needed to replace them anyway. They were tooooooo small. ;-) .

I think I've seen Tony perform with regular (non stretchable) gloves. If you buy a bigger size, it won't make a big difference and I guess the space it takes to conceal the "ball" would be the same because of the thickness.
